Freecom DataCard 256MB Weighing in at a mere 10 grams, The worlds slimmest USB flash memory device that fits into any wallet, hardly noticeable amongst existing credit and debit cards

  • Freecom 256MB DataCard USB 2.0 USB flash drive 0.25 GB :

Freecoms new patented USB flash memory card with its extra flat, extra light innovative design is only 2 millimetres thick. The worlds slimmest USB flash memory device that fits into any wallet, hardly noticeable amongst existing credit and debit cards.

Weighing in at a mere 10 grams, this lightweight holds up to 2GB of data (with a 4GB version due to be released mid 2006). The operation of the DataCard is simple: The integrated USB connection is simply folded in and out of the DataCard and is secured in place by a"click" mechanism. On connection to a laptop or computer, the Freecom DataCard is installed automatically within a few seconds, making it immediately available to the operating system as a removable drive.

The DataCards ultra-flat design comes in a timelessly elegant black look. Even its predecessor, the USBCard PRO, convinced mobile users particularly with its successful combination of form and function. The DataCard continues this trend in an even slimmer form, without compromising on specifications.

The 'card' part of the drive is plastic and the drive, also plastic, pushes out from it like a cut-out. It remains attached to the card, though, by a strip of rubber which is very flexible. This could possibly be a problem if the area around the...

Verdict: Freecom's USB Memory is very slim and small, but you pay a high price for its compactness. Freecom's simply titled USB Memory is the first portable USB hard disk we've seen in some time that uses a 1.8in hard disk. This is the same size as...

The USBCard costs the same as Corsairs Flash Voyager, and has the same 4GB capacity. Its credit card design means you can slip it into your wallet and carry your data with the rest of your valuables. A slender connector folds out from the card, so...
